Put Your Confidence In God

Psalms 118:8 (KJV)
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
People are important, and God often uses them to encourage, support, and help us. But we can hurt ourselves when all of our confidence becomes centered around people instead of God. People are human. They can change their minds, disappoint us, misunderstand us, or simply fail to meet our expectations. Man can let you down during a conversation, but God will never fail you.

Our confidence must ultimately rest in the One who does not change. Appreciate the people God places in your life, but don't expect from people what only God can provide. When others disappoint you, remember that your foundation was never supposed to be in them—your trust belongs in the Lord.

Love people, but put your complete trust in God.
Don't allow someone's disappointment to destroy your peace.
People may change, but God remains faithful.
Let God—not people—be the foundation of your confidence.
